Looks like you have a great start. I see you found Stevie T and his media baskets.

I loved my BC29 (and BC8). They are great platforms to work with.

What are you plans in the way of livestock?

Tagging along to watch the progress.

It will have water in it this weekend hopefully! I need to buy a garbage can to mix water in. So do I just buy it and rinse it well with hot water? Is that all the cleaning it needs beforehand?

Hi. Well, first I'm thinking about ordering 20 lbs of LR from Tampa Bay Saltwater and once I get done picking out the gorilla crabs and mantis shrimp (that's the problem with LIVE live rock, comes with ALL the hitchhikers) after the cycle, I plan to a few fish and then softies down the road. I want xenia, zoas, shrooms, tree, etc.... the easy guys to care for since this is my first real experience with corals (and stuff that will do well under stock BC lighting).
I've been reading up on some possible reef safe fish but it seems that many of them can be coral nippers so not sure on the fish. I would love a coral beauty though or a flame hawkfish.

WOW ! X-mas indeed. Welcome to Reef Frontiers, nice start and will also be following along. When I get over to my folks place in Clarkston could bring an intro pkg of Softies & zoas to you. There certainly is starting to be a fine group of reefers over in the Lewiston/Clarkston area now.

Cheers, Todd

Sounds like you have a good plan.
I haven't used the TB Live Rock. When I had my 29 I used rock from my 8 and added some pieces bought from a local store. With a tank that small, I'd look for some nice porous rock. You might consider going with some dry rock from Reef Cleaners or Bulk Reef Supply and then adding some live rock to seed it.
I had great luck with softies under the stock lighting.

Setup pics. Used the handle of a hammer to tap the false bottom out of chamber 1/ heater chamber. Lots of silicone so had to push kind of hard.
