There is some info on YouTube by LA Fishguy. I also saw a beautiful jellyfish at Denny's Pet World in Kirkland. It was clear with these patches of blue with 10 inch long tenacles that were clear and blue. It was amazing.

seattle aquarium also has a jelli tank in a ring u walk through pretty neat.

Yeah, I'd like to go there sometime, I just hate going into downtown Seattle if I don't have to.

unless your willing to buy a quite expensive professional kressil, and not some crappy airstone driven"deathtrap"
that some people are selling as jellifish aquariums, then dont bother.

It needs to be a cylinder. No corners. They can't see and they go where the currant takes them. But other than that is just like what we already do. They need something like oyster feast to eat.

Thanks for the input guys.
I have this lamebrain idea of building one. I know it needs to be a cylinder, just trying to figure out how to keep the flow in a circle and how to filter it.

Skimmy, I seen the the small ones that are driven with the air stone, Not real impressed. Not sure what you mean by kressil. I'll goggle it and see what pops up.

Its called a Kreisel tank after the fellow that invented it. I have built a couple and they are a tough build but just for the gluing of the front sheet, I am sure you could do it though. here is a picture

Oh great for keeping moon jellies with a black light they are cool

Thanks Mike.
Yea I did some more research last night. Got to wondering if my oven is large enough to heat up some acrylic. LOL
I have a 1 1/2 hour window to use the oven before Nellie gets home.
Have to figure out what to use for a form??? Need a 16'' diam. Probably something metal?????

She will find out if she has a sniffer like my wife. Acrylic has an odor when it gets heated. You'll never get away with it.

Lol @ the window of time!
My wife would probably flip too if I put something other than dinner in the oven.
Now that I think about it... Maybe, because she lets me bake my homemade gauges??
:) good luck id love to have a jelly tank too, so ill follow this.

Busses run every ten minutes from the U-district.

Have a sausage and a beer at Uli's in the market on either your walk down to or walk up from the aquarium (or both ways!)

No need to pass up such an excellent resource as the Seattle Aquarium just because it is downtown.
