Kevin's 550 Gallon Reef

I visited my friend Kevin today, and had to show his 550 gallon tank off. His tank is looking great. His tank is primarily an SPS tank, these pictures sure don't do his tank justice.

Well, I've got a job application in with Kootenai County (Coeur D’Alene) and was wondering where I would live if I got hired on. I guess that I don't need to worry about that anymore!

And you experienced guys should know better than to let us Newbies see a gorgeous tank full of SPS corals!

What is that green coral that i can see in the top 4 photos? It is just left of your overflow. It has a couple tiers of branches. It looks really cool.

If I am not mistaken, he told me that is a a. yongei, that grew that way because of the return current from the sea swirl right above it. neat huh?

That’s what Kevin told me as well. If he's a liar, at least he's a consistent liar.

It is Acropora yongei. It is a frag from the parent that is encrusting the overflow tower. I've had it since 1997.
