Anybody use this reactor ?
I'm thinking about buying this one from my friend who ordered this one but decided not to use it, And when i saw this KNOP Reactor I like the design very much,But i really don't know Anything deeply about it. Any leakage? easy to setup or not? Anyproblem with this Ca++ Reactor? Need as much information. Because it would costs me Almost 800$$+ for the whole system
a friend of mine ordered this and i don't really know the real reason why he refuse to use it.

IS IT THE WORST CALCIUM REACTOR IN THE MARKET???

I have to admit that i truly like the designed of this S-IV KNOP it's for tank up to 600Gal!, But i'd better ask before i make any decision.
He's going to sell all things about Ca Reactor which he ordered included
1. KNOP S-IV Calcium Reactor chamber
2. Dennerie Co2 Regulator Profi
3. Solenoid Valve Profi

The price is about 770US.Dollars. What do you guys think?
Give me anyidea or may be there're somebody who own or know any good or bad about this reactor from KNOP and may want to share the truth. It'll help making a decision easier to me

I know there're some people out there can give me some advice
Thanks in advance

Hi Klever - I couldn't find much feedback about this particular reactor. Are there any other brands you have considered?

Hey!

That seems very expensive. Barr Aquatic Systems has a dual chamber design that is awsome. All the acrylic is 3/8". Everything is flame polished and individually leak tested. They are also much cheaper than the one you are planning purchase. Here is the link: http://www.barraquatic.com/cal.php

More Input Please. Noone own this series?
any knop user?

I want to have somemore information from one who're using this S-IV or anybody has experienced problem with knop reactor.

I just talk to someone privately about this stuff and he said this one is the first class. what do you guys think? many complaint i've seen over the Reefcentral.com/forum
but while i read on wetwebmedia.com there're so many people say good things about KNOP. Inclouding Anthony Calfo,Bob Fenner. Kindda make me So confuse now

Klever,
I dont think are many poeple who use it to be honest with you. With a price in that neighborhood many poeple are buying the Schuran reactors or the Deltec fluidized Calcium reactors.....
I think if want to buy a calcium reactor you could easily buy another brand that would work great, and save yourself at least $200.00

How big of a tank do you have, and how many and what corals do you have??

I would look seriously at the Geo reactors, the lifereef reactors, the MRC reactors, and the Korralin reactors. You should be able to buy a whole new reactor with everything needed to get running for about $500-$600.....and shipping shouldnt cost you $200.

Good Luck,

Nick

Klever,

The whole purpose of a calcium reactor is to drop the PH in the chamber holding the media to make it acidic. The more acidic water brakes down the media liquefying it so it can be delivered into your tank. As long as the reactor can do that it will work fine. Reactors that are fluidized etc don't benefit you any more than a standard one would. Ideally the reactor should be able to produce an effluent with 500ppm calcium. The size of your tank and amount of calcium using inverts will determine how big of a reactor you will need. Even a small reactor can work on a larger tank but you will need to replace the media much more frequently......

Hope that helps.....

I have no personal experience with the Knop reactor but Knop is a solid manfuacturer that makes quality stuff AFAIK.

Thanks for all your Inputs.
Now i just got the unit they all look great (But i think The Chamber is too expensive But if it works with stability then it's not that expensive. hopefully it'll work nicely)

1-More Question
- I bought together The DENNERLE PROFI2000 CO2-pressure reducer(Regurator)+SolenoidValve Also From KNOP company. anyone of you have heard this DENNERLE regurator ?

-I bought Milwaukee SMS122 pH Controller to use with KNOP Ca++ Reactor Anyone has anyproblem with this pH Controller?

-Now i need Pumps to circulate the tank 1.for my return from Sump 2.For my Close Loops. My new project i'm working on is a 48"x36"x24"(LxWxH) I just got someone drilled the tank to day (It's AGA) Should the Pump which return water from sump to the tank be stronger than the pump for close loops? and will the SCWD work for this tank? My tank volume is about 170-180GAL

Dennerle is quality German equipment. Milwaukee meters are fine too. I'd be very careful not to run that reactor too hard and test CA and ALK often, you can do serious damage to your 180 gallon tank if you use a CA reactor rated for 600 gallons!

If you are in Thailand then get Sanso pumps, quality stuff! :)

You probably want the closed loop pump much stronger than the sump return pump, the more waterflow the better.

Hey orion76 You're in bangkok too hehehe.. Are you using any ca++ Reactor?

Anyway thanks for your openion and I'm surely go with SANSO both main pump and for close loops

Do you have CLS on your tank ?
