Kevin, there is a file size restriction for pics directly from your computer of 100kb ??? But if you use Photobucket or Flicker or ??? you will not have any issues with file size plus they show up directly. In photobucket you just copy and paste img tag right into this space amongst text.

If I were at a computer I could send you a link but from my phone I can't. However, if you go to the "come in and say hello" forum, there is a sticky there with screen shots showing you how to post images. I think I titled it "How to post photos as images and not attachments". Check that out and give that a try or if you can't find the thread I'll post a link for you when I get to a computer if no one else does it before I get a chance. :)

ok THANKS. so here is a genral pic of the display which shows the display drains into the 19g sump on the left, water pick up by the rio 750gph pump at the mid baffle and skimmed, then dumped just above water level and returned to tank via the iwaki md30rlxt hidden behind skimmer. by itself this should work just fine right? but NOOOO, ive got to go and complicate things and want to add more water volume ( very affriad of high temps in summer and limited room to add stuff under display) But by adding more water and sharring the 19g sump is where I have come up with a dual sump idea....which is a work in progress.

that looks like an old reef devil as opposed to the 600, BTW...

like i said, for a temp situation, i would power the etss with the iwaki and use the rio as a return pump.
the rio will be plenty for flow through the sump.

I have a supreme mag 9.5, and 18 available too for skimmer or return. but worried about heat with all the lights, my personal experience with the rio 2500 is that it would not be good for the return due to head height. better for skimmer with no back pressure than to try to pump a 6 foot head though multiple 90's.

since u have a one lying around, try the mag 9.5 on the skimmer...much better than the rio... should be a big difference!

as for your hood... your prolly going to need a chiller for the summer here.
you may want to consider replacing your metal halides/vho's with some LED's for your canopy...
no bulb changes for 10 years, comparatively no heat, incredible color/flourescence, and less than half the power consumption.
for a 4' tank you could get away with 2 of these;

as it stands, you will spend that much every 9-12 months on replacement vho/mh bulbs for your current canopy.

and next, what do you plan on doing for flow in your display?

Is it ok to swear here on this forum? cuz i'd really like to over the idea that I just got about $6000 ( paid $400)worth of never used reef stuff that is 10 years old....which really, is pretty much obsolete! however if I am to get this tank up this YEAR then I guess I'm gonna have to use my reef devil...vho's and MH....and use frozen 2ltr bottles for a chiller and fans everywhere. F*&C!

as far as flow in the display I just ordered $1000 worth of Ecotech Marine Vortech Propeller Powerheads..................just kidding! after 10 years doing freshwater with over 500g total not counting anyting under 50 gal, you know Ive got powheads EVERYWHERE.

yep, screamin deal. God's honest truth I even shed a tear! the guy battled his condo for 10 years trying to get permission to set it up. what you see is only part of it. I got tons of ( now moslty usless chemicals and test kits, except perhpaps the kalk and carbon... maybee part a and B) a kent maxxima hi-s ro/di with all fittings, cooling fans, hole saws, power heads, heater, timmers, pinpoint salinity-ph- and orp monitors. yeh man....I CRIED!

I have considered selling the skimmer, vho's and MH...and chems and test kits to those willing to chance them and buying all new, but, crap...I will still need prob $3000 of my own money and i don't even have LR yet!

how hanus that he battled the condo's for 10yrs.... :(
I would have set it up in the garage and told them to F.O., especially if I owned the place.
but yeah, a deal like that, I prolly woulda cried too... lulz

fwiw, anything that is a fluid in a plastic bottle(additives and test kits) that is 2 or more years old should be considered garbage.
I usually chuck it even after 1 year...
elos test kits are great, and elos and warner marine are some great additives as well, all pharmaceutical or analytical reagent grade chemicals.
and yes, kalk and carbon should be fine if in sealed lid containers.
