Leaky tank

i recently bought a tank and it leaks. the seam on the left side where the acrylic pieces meet is where it leaks. i heard i can just reseal it.
any one have any suggestions or tips to help me out.

i also was told to use weldon 40, acrylic cement. does anyone know how i should apply it?

Weld on 40 is like a tube of model glue. There are others on here who build with acrylic as a business, but when ever I have gotten a leak, I use a dremel tool (with a cone shape cutter) to clean the leak area out and then run a bead along the seem, let dry for 24 hours.

weld on 3. works great that is what mytee and i use

That would depend on the size of the tank. If it's a large tank it could be a disaster just waiting to happen imo

Just look up on the forms here. Jason the guy who makes acrylic tanks said" that it is all good to use weld on 3 to fix or reseal an acrylic tank." I had the same ? a while back about a sump that had a leak.

I built acrylic aquariums for 3 years. Weldon 3 will work just fine as long as you can completely fill the area in question. If you cannot completely fill it get as much as you can in and then use the weldon 40.

Also, be sure to lightly (not too lightly but not really hard either) to clamp it once the weldon 3 is in the seam. Leave it that way for at least 4 hours.

Speaking of Weld On. I'm relatively new to sump building and recently I went to Home Depot and they had no clue where I can find it. Can anyone please tell me what's a good place to buy either #3 or #4. I used PVC cement and it seems to work so far but I want to do it right.
