lighting height
i want to take the acryilic guard off of my light, it's a 4 x 65 watt pc thingy and it gets a lot of creep, what would be a good height off of the water so the bulbs and ballasts wouldn't get damaged?

Well, thats an impossible to answer question without adquate data, which once you have, you will know your own answer.

However, the height above the water plays a huge effect on the quanity of light that reaches your tank. Also, those acrilic chunks really protect the internals of the light from shorting on salt creep.

Mine gets pretty crusty to, ive been wondering if the coralife saltcreep elimenator would work to keep it a little more clean. I have to clean mine every couple of days.
