Lighting Question

I have a 72" Aqualight Pro 3x150W HQI. I was wondering if you can take out one of the 150W HQI bulb and replace it with a 250W HQI bulb if I put in a ballast that will support it?

I'm not 100% positive on this, but I believe that there is a difference in length between the 150watt and 250watt lamps. If this is true then you'd have to do some cutting on the reflector to get the 250 to fit.

Not only are the bulbs different, but you will need a 250 watt ballast to drive the new bulb.

are there 3 seperate ballasts in the light strip or are they all tied into one ballast???

I have the same curiosity with my coralife aqualight pro 150 watt 48 inch. I want to change both ballasts and bulbs to 250 watt.

You can't do it I'm afraid. The sockets are different between 150 and 250 watt bulbs. So you would have to change the ballast and the socket as well as the bulb.
