so i have come to a crossroads with my tank i have become more and more interested in keeping corals and less and less with fish, currently i have a 8 bulb tek t5 fixture and 4 bulb wana be tek t5 fixture over a 8ft 300 gallon, so two 48 inchers fits perfect. i am thinking of upgrading the 4 bulb to another 8 bulb tek fixture instead of going halide. the tank is fairly tall

What do you think i would be limited to with two 8 bulb fixtures? lighting wise
where is a good place to buy T5 bulbs?

tank is close to 30 inches tall is that too tall to get good penetration all the way to the bottom?

I am not a professional by any means but I believe that the T5 lighting has great penetration at 30 inches. Another good point with T5's is that you get a good constant light spread instead of the Halide that tends to have 70% of the light just beneath the bulb, and the sides get far less. Which over time causes your acro's to grow towards the light if you do not have a good spread of halides over your tank. I currently run halides and have been looking at possibly swapping for T5's
