lighting suggestions please

I just purchased a Oceanic 140 RR it on a 48x24 platform I was thinking of going with Reef Optics III reflectors,Pfo dual 250 watt HQI ballast,and xm or ushio 10k's with supplement actenic from 440 watts of vho and for the dusk to dawn cycle. Any comment or sugesstions would be greatly appericated. I will be posting alot more questions to come in the following weeks with pics as this system progresses

Personally, I would go with 2X400W MH and perhaps only 220W VHO using the bulbs you described. Of course, you can certainly get by with what you have got...

For the 10K bulb and the depth of the tank I would say the HQI ballasts should be fine. Another option would be to go to a three light system so you could blend bulb kelvins, but its a personal choice. You should be good the way you planned for any type of coral or clam.
