Lighting Times Day or Night?

What time do you guys have your aquarium lights on? I used to have it on during the day and realized its just wasting electricity since nobody is home to enjoy the tanks. So I now have the lights come on at 6pm and turn off at 2:30am.
I have vampire fish :evil:

i used to have the lights come on during the morning daytime also and it was harder to keep control of feeding times and what not so i moved it to about an hour before i get home so in the morning before work i am able to feed my lionfish. he only comes out at night. and also i didnt get to enjoy the tank before now i do

You may wish to keep in mind if you have certain corals, they depend on the lighting to survive so even when not home the lighting may be required depending on what you have in your tank. Regards.

I can't afford a timer. I just tun them on in the morning and turn them off before bed.
