I have a 24g nanocube, and I have at first 3-4 limpets that hitchhiked with my rocks. Now I see about 7-8 of them. At first I didn't think they pose any issues. But lately I see two limpets grazing on my xenia. Both have xenia on the top of their shells now! They seem to graze right at the base and the xenia sometimes just attached them to the shell...but i have see a few stalks fall off and die. Does Limpets eat Xenia? Does it eat other softies?

I didn't mind much at first cuz Xenia grow like weeds...but they are starting to make a dent. Any suggestions?

I have had limpets in my tank with Xenia and haven't experienced that before. Actually i kinda wish they would cuz they are dandelions in my tank. perhaps if you could post a pic more people could chime in and give you some better advice. HTH

Limpets (the small white, keyhole type) will not eat xenia. ;) They are most likely grazing on algae on the rocks where the xenia base is.

Best,
Ilham
