Live or Let Die? Fast growing sponge

A zoanthid rock in my tank has sprouted a mustard green, spider web paterned, sponge(?). Im a little intimidated honestly, cause it looks like one of spidermans enimies.The sponge is growing fast and I am considering let it continue its march across the bare bottom glass.

Is it good or bad for water quality? Will it smother things in its path? What do u think about this sponge?

It has some larger valve like holes, and some fine textured little duster mouths in florescent transparent green(could be another little creature living in the mix though).

Let it be. I think they are cool. I have green ones and purple as well. It definitely won't harm anything.
