Live Rock in Canisters

Has anyone tried this and do you get alot of pods?

I've never tried it before, but I do know putting live rock in canisters can potentially degrade water quality if not cared for properly as live rock sheds and it will collect in the canister thus degrading the water quality. Here's a bump in any event for more input from the others
