Do you have to QT live rock? Ive been buying live rock from the same place for a while now and Ive never Qt'd them. Everything seems to be OK right now. I dont have any fish in my tank right now though (2 of them in QT tank) but I am planning on buying some this weekend. Should I QT it and if so what should I be looking for? Thanks.

It would be a good idea in my opinion to cure/quarentine the live rock in a seperate container (or tank) from your main display, incase you have some un-wanted hitch hikers in it you don't want to transfer over to your tank. In addition, if the live rock is not fully cured, there may be some die-off depending on the condition of the rock which can either cause a cycle to a tank already established or prolong the cycle of a tank newly setup in the process of cycling. So basically in a nut shell, I'd say yes...It's best to quarentine new rock although not very many people do it. I'd say it's not too bad throwing live rock right into the tank when first setting it up without any marine life in there, but once you start introducing things after the tank has cycled, I'd say definately do it in a seperate container to prevent any issues. Just my 2 cents worth
I'd definately make sure it's well cured before throwing it in an existing tank. Also, if you QT it to weed out unwanted hitchhikers, you'll have to look the rockwork over real well as it's curing. Otherwise, you'll most likely miss the pests.

Buy a rubbermaid tub and cure it in there, Or another empty tank. Putting live rock that is uncured into a existing system could spell disaster. Its die off could polute the system. Make it habbit of putting live rock into separate containers till cured. Hitchers are another like Krish stated. Its just good practice.
