Last week we received Emerald Crabs and Peppermints along with all Rods Foods so we are well stocked.

This week we have Vanuatu, Fiji, LA Wholesale, and ORA. The Vanuatu order is really small because of a cyclone tearing through. It ruined fill rates so all my cool wrasses were zero'd.

Vanuatu arrives this afternoon-

1-regal angel
2-indian blenny
2-sunburst anthias
3-mimic tang (lemonpeel)
1-swallowtail angel

I ordered both Melanurus and Tail Spots. To see if we got any just check the LA Wholesale list that will post wednesday.

Thanks!

If you guys get a tailspot blenny I'll take it!:D

Oh you will loooooove it. My tailspot from BR is THE most personable fish, and it's really cute too. Well suited for our rimless nano tanks! I'll stop here and not mention that I call him 'fat ba$tard' because he's a chunky little thing and never stops shoving food into his mouth... er. ;)

Awesome! I've heard nothing but good things about them and they are very nice looking fish. :)

Looking for some nice zoas

Do you have some nice colored zoas on rocks/branches? I would like a decent size peice of something bright and dense, that will really spread out. I really like the blues and reds/oranges.

Please let me know.

Thank you!

I've got a few nice multi-ricordea rocks. Kinda low on zoanthids until wednesday. There should be a bunch on our order. I have about 40 single ricordea in assorted colors. They are all on small rocks that could be glued to one larger rock to create a beautiful cluster.

So, I know your not supposed to be augmentative on here. So I mean this just for conversation. But, isn't it bad to take fish out of the ocean? Shouldn't we all try and support farming operations that don't harm the ocean, making this hobby more socialy and environmental friendly? I appreciate any input.

Taking fish out of the ocean isn't bad when done responsibly. Like fishing for for food fish, shellfish etc it can be done in a manner that is sustainable. In other words, there is a certain level of collection that mother nature and the ocean can support. Pollution, greenhouse gas/global warming, developement, and other non-hobby related factors are considered bigger threats to reef vitality than hobbyist consumption. I'm not implying we should ignore our part. We should all do whatever we can to reduce our impact on reefs in as many ways as possible. Rather, I am attempting to point out that we can use this resource without ruining it. That said supporting aquaculture is important. I can only speak for our store and many of our customers but we all do this. We buy as many fish and coral species as possible from aquaculture facilities and local growers. For example, the 40 ricordea mentioned above are all farmed by a small company here in the Pacific Northwest. We even farm some of our own corals. The biggest problem we face right now is that it is barely economically viable for aquaculture operations to be in business. Reproducing new species of fish in any quantity is difficult and expensive. We only have access to about 15-20 species of fish on a regular basis. HTH paint the picture:)
