I have some green bubble algae, is like a plant, growing. Up till now it has been a deep olive green and growing like a weed. It now is a light green, stopped growing and today I saw it giving off wisps like smoke of some kind of chlorophyll or something. It looks like a forest fire. It happend right when the lights came on. After it stopped the water looks alittle cloudy. Has anyone seen this and what is it doing????:?: :(

It is sporulating. I would personally do a waterchange and step up your skimming a bit. Otherwise, you are going to have a lot more bubble algae in different areas of your tank.

Ive never actually seen it do that.......but i doesnt sound like its a good thing. Sounds like its prepping to make your tank one big bubble factory.

Thanks for the hep guys. I turned up my skimmer got nothing?? Don't know what it is but I don't thing it is sporulating. It looks like it is dying. All ranges are O.K.
