This is an update on a low budget tank I put together for someone to get rid of my extra soft corals. I had an extra 29G tank and he had 5 flouro 20W lights he mounted together. I gave him a few pieces of live rock and his cousin donated a few pieces of LR and some base rock. I gave him 2 mushroms and a few pieces of cabbage lether after 30 days. The tank has now been set up just under 2 months. There is currently no mechanical filtration, and only 1 med powerhead I donated. I just upgraded another powerhead to a SEIO so I will be donating a second powerhead. 2 Turbo snails were recently added to help deal with the algae. So far the only expenses have been a $25 heater, $20 salt, $8 snails, whatever he paid for a hydormeter. So say under $70. We have been keeping only 20 gals of water in the tank to let the light penetrate better, and to help flow because of just having 1 powerhead. I sure the will be some updrades over time. We have a donated 175W MH ballast that we need to rig up.
