hi guys and girls.

I was wondering if any of you have had any experiance with aussie lps's.??

im really keen to get either a blastmussa , flavia , or similar.

and i was just checking what they were like in the aquarium.

I have some soft corals at the moment(toadstool, cauliflower colt, zoanthids, xenias, and a kenya tree)

so any experiance with blasto's or flavia's????

lighting is 2x t5's and blue LED moonlighjts

hi and welcome chefco! blastos should do fine under your setup. not sure how favias will fair, but we've got our blastos + acans under t5's and they are happy little guys.

How big is your tank and when you say 2 t5's, what wattage are you talking about? If you've got a 75g tank with 2 54w bulbs over it, you won't be growing much of anything.

i have a single head of aussie large blasto that is already splitting two more heads off and fully extending its head under PC's and it looks beautiful. my aussie acans maintain the same color as when i bought them as well and have grown more than 7 new polyps in under 3 months !

sorry guys - the tank is 100ltr and has two 54W marine white tubes-9,500K each,

there is not any problem with lighting as all other corals are perfect.

so - i take it you guys would recomend blasto's then????

in my opinion light isnt as important as proper diet for most lps corals. favias, blasto, acans, and tons more will do just fine as long as they are recieveing the right nutrition.
