As soon as the house was starting to come out of boxes I decided to set up my nano cube. I decided with this tank to go with a bit higher quality equipment than I had been using in the past and with the nano it was easier to justify the costs to my wife than my previous tanks. This is my first nano. Most people want to keep going bigger but after this tank I've started to get hooked. Plus doing 5 gallon water changes is much easier than 25-30 gallon water changes!

Please forgive the poor photo quality. (cell phone) One of these days I'll steal my wife's dsl and snap a few. Also coral placement is not set completely. I need to get to barrier and get some epoxy or coral glue.

FTS before I moved stuff around.

It's an HQI with a 150w MH so the tank heats up. I bought this neat little fan and it'll kick on once the temp starts to raise. I'm still working out the kinks with my RKL but overall I like this.

RKL. A few people tried to talk me out of one but it seemed the biggest complaint was the display, but this unit is quite bright. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I need to take some more time to tweak it but it makes life easy.

I still have quite a bit of work. The tank needs quite a bit more life in it. I will probably add a skimmer as well. I haven't had any problems and I feel like the water changes every 2 weeks would be sufficient, but I like the insurance of one. I'm trying to find a decent HOB that's not too monstrous. Something that would fit in back would be nice as well but it seems like they're tough to find. So if someone has a sapphire laying around hit me up.

I also need an ATO of some sorts, but surprisingly I don't lose much water. In Utah I would be putting in 3 gallons a day in my 90... guess the climate isn't as dry. :clap2: Still if I go out of town I like the peace of mind.

Is that an ecotech mp20?? and does it work well for the tank?? any placement issues?? I am very curious as I have an MP40 that I totally loved for my old 210 but I have moved and now have a 2X2 45gal cube so the MP40 is way overkill for my current tank.. but I had some placement issues with my MP40 and have been hesitant about spending a bunch on a smaller echotech if it is going to have issues? really like the setup so far..

I have the Ecotech MP10. No placement issues yet. I worry about that a little as the tank matures, but I purposefully went with minimal amounts of rock so that I have more room for coral growth. It would be a good choice for a 2x2 cube.

The tank has been great so far. I'm a little frustrated because i picked up some bubble algae from some frags I bought. I'm not above tearing out all the rock and sterilizing it if I can't stay on top of it.

Yea, once you can remove them manually without popping them you should be fine. :)

I left one in on purpose and injected it with vinegar. I'm waiting to see if it comes back around or if that helped. It's what I do with aptasia pests and works really well.
