Well I finaly decided to use the lux meter to measure my light. I get 1300 lux on the x10 2000-19999 setting in the deepest part of my tank. I have never used a lux meter so I am still reasearching what exactly means.

My lighting is 250 watt halide ran on a blue wave 2 dual 250w

I have 24" fixtures from aqua traders and have 14k aquatrader cheapy bulbs.

Just wanted to see some other measurment to compare.

One other thing I have to add is one half of my balast is burnt out. I am not sure if this has would effect the light output.

I am also using a Aquatraders balast temporarly until i fix my balast. it only measures 400 lux on the x10 2000-19999 setting.

From something i found we acually need to use a par meter because Lux is only a measurement of visible light.

I will need to get the meter back anyway just to measure my lighting once I get my ballast fixed.
