Mandarin Dragonette thrill seeker

Recently I didn't see my Mandarin for a couple days, who is generally active and easy to spot. I went to move some rocks around in the sump/fuge, and there he was! This was really suprising, because my center overflow is a straight 3/4" pvc pipe that is almost 3' long, and ends with a 90 degree angle at the sump. During this time, the water level in the sump was about 2" lower than the pipe, so it produces a little waterfall, and musta been one hell of a water slide for my fish!:scared:
I put him back in the main display only to find him in the sump again the next day!:lol: There is an abundance of pods down there, and I'm sure he returned to have a feast! So for now he can stay in there and get fat, and soon I will figure out a guard for the overflow and stick him back.

My picasso clown did the same thing...made it safely once. The second time he made it into the overflow, past a 90, past a T, through the ball valve, bast 2 more 90's into the sump and was promptly sucked into the skimmer, through the skimmer pump and into the body where he went round and round......




He did not make it the second time.

My sump is set up basically like a fuge, with a bunch of sand, live rock and algae, so he's safe down there. No equipment to hurt him.

After being in the sump for a while, he started looking and trying to get my attention when I got near the tank. I figured he was ready to go back up top, so I put him in the main display again. He stayed there for a couple weeks this time before I found him in the sump. Unfortunately, that was his last trip down the tube. He got sucked into the return pump today while I was at work. Poor little dude, I have been doing things with my tank lately and didn't have it set up safe enough for him this time.

That sucks. I had to build up my overflow to prevent my fish from riding the slide. lol
