maroon clown

trying to find out if my maroon clown will host a rbta. i have been told that they wont. looking for more info. thanks scott

I just have to post this. I found an ad that states about a maroon clownfish;
"An anemone host such as Bubbletip (Entacmaea quadricolor) or Leathery (Heteractis crispa) is preferred, but not required. Keeping an anemone alive for your clownfish will involve substantially more light than standard aquarium fixtures offer. Feed the anemone a bite of shrimp at least weekly, when the lights first come on.
If the anemone dies, or there is no anemone, the clownfish will adapt by feeding its rock. It will literally chose a rock in the aquarium as its own, and faithfully drop food on it at every feeding, and even sleep near it at night."

Thought the thing about the rock was pretty funny.

i saw one that host green bubble anemone...then i bought one and i dont have an anemone but it host/hide in a certain rock...

I had one and she would hardly ever leave her RBTA. She drove it nuts - it would shrivel up and slink away but my clown was relentless.

Is there any type that is better then rbta for a clown to host

BTA and RBTAs are actually the natural host of Maroon Clowns. A Maroon will host it in more times than any other anemone. Whoever told you they won't, is full of bunk!!

+1 on it WILL host an RBTA. I have seen many. Just an FYI, they will get aggressive to anything that goes near it, even your hand.
