I would like to obtain a mated pair of Stonogobiops yasha with a pistol shrimp however I want to have a plan as far as QT goes before even ordering them. Typically all shrimp, corals, and other inverts I keep in a fish-less system for 8 weeks to help insure ich and other fish parasites don't reach my display aquarium. I typically also put fish through a hypo-salinity treatment to cure them of crypto. You may start to see where this becomes a dilemma in this situation. I suppose there is no way about it, but to separate the two fish from the shrimp and just cross my fingers they can be introduced again in the future.

I would greatly appreciate any thoughts/feedback on this.

The mated pair (assuming they were mated prior to your acquisition) should go through quarantine together. I'm uncertain though, whether or not the shrimp is part of their group in the wild or you hope to match them up later. If they are matched, then the process will be easier -- quarantine the shrimp separately for the same time frame, just don't give it any treatment. Prepare the display tank by slightly polluting it with extra food/nitrogen wastes to beef up the biological filter and other organisms. Stop this a few days before the quarantined life goes in.

Put all three into the display tank when the quarantine is done. If it was not part of the pair's group, then the shrimp might best go in a couple of days after the mated pair settles in.
