mean cleaner shrimp?

So i got some sps today they are doing great. They fell over so i put my hand in the tank to pick up the one that fell and my cleaner shrimp jumped on my hand and was like pinching me with his two little claws. It stung to say the least, didnt leave any marks but he did it again when another coral fell and he is hanging around the corals a lot. (I know im looking into buying a frag rack)

Is he like protecting them, was he cleaning or what?

they instinctively do that its there niche and they are pretty good as what they do(eating bits of dead skin parasites ect ect). Its like a free manicure ;D

i think he was cleaning your hand mine jumps to me every time i put my hand in but it doesnt hurt at all kinda tickles maybe he was just grumpy or maybe you really a shower haha

I know mine is always cleaning my hand and arm everytime I put in the tank. I think the first couple of times it was more caught me off guard and didnt know what it was doing but now it doesnt bother me now.
