I apologize about being sporadic the last few months on the member of the month, but we are alive again :) Congratulations to Paul B for being our November 2007 Member of the Month. Paul has been in this hobby for many years, and as you can see by his posts he has many different ideas that he shares with our members. Thanks Paul for sharing your ideas and showing members there are many ways to skin the proverbial reef cat :)

Visit Paul's November MOTM writeup and send a congratulations when you get a chance. Thanks Paul!!!

And thanks to Coral Frenzy for sending Paul some coral food as well :)

Congrats Paul, like the part about diverse fauna in your tank, I agree it isn't something people have or deal with.;)

Not sure about the asphalt though!

Thanks guys, just don't put Clorox in your tank, or I guess Asphalt. OK no beer cans or chains either. Well, maybe short chains and as long as it's a good brand of beer, I guess that would be OK too ;)

Thanks Charlie.
I think many of my methods scare people. A lot of the older technology that was the backbone of this hobby seems to have disappeared with the introduction of the internet.
Of course a lot of the newer more technological aspects are a benefit but we shouldn't lost track of some of the inovations of the past.
All of the older ways of doing things were discovered by trial and error (mostly error), now we rely mainly on other people's failures and successes through the internet.
This is in no way a bad thing but I think a lot of us have lost the ability to figure out things on our own. Information from others is a good thing but when we have an unlimited supply of information, much of it incorrect with no one really in a position to regulate or at least test it, it can cause problems.
Take algae for instance, there are dozens of ways said to eliminate it. But if you look at the posts you can see that it is still a big problem.
Anyway I am rambling and I will get myself into trouble.
Have a great day.
Paul

Paul, as was stated in the intro to this thread, there is more than one way to skin the cat. If it works, and has worked for that long..................You know what I mean!!!!!
Opinions are like........................... everybody has one. :D:D:D
