Mesh Mod Issues

Just needing a bit of advice...

I mesh-modded an Octopus 110 Recirculating Skimmer and am now having some issues with it producing too much foam (presently filling a gallon waste container in about 15 minutes even with the valve adjusted to keep the foam at the lowest possible level).

I did what should be a pretty standard mod for one of these using 3 layers of mat from one of Barrier Reef's kits.

Anyone run into similar issues in the past? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

on a skimmer that small, i would suggest trying it with one, then 2 layers of mesh on top of a piece of gutter guard to see which will work best, i think 3 is too much.

Also, having certain additives in your tank (such as dechorinators) will make your skimmer go crazy and overflow.
