Hello Anthony, this post would be more appropriate in the photo forum, but I wanted to be sure it got to you. In my new copy of the Book of Coral Propagation I saw that you used an Ogles Mesoscope for photo work, could you share with me how you used it to take pictures, I'd love to be able to use mine for that, best regards, Joe

cheers, Joe

I really like my mesoscope... more than I should perhaps for the fortune I have invested in camera gear. The marriage of the two was inevitable I reckon :p

I took that pic with a modified adapter. The ogles folks and independent people were trying to replicate/mimic/modify apparatus something akin to those we use on microscopes. The early prototypes (of which that photo was taken with) turned out to only be comparable to a macro lens, frankly, and as such not very marketable.

Ogles UK (mesoscope mfg) has now turned to a simple (and savvy IMO) focus on adapters for USB cameras and camera phones. Considering the quality of such devices presently and coming with the evolution of technology... this is an easier and more affordable path.

I have not tried the new adapters yet but expect to soon I'm finishing a photo lab section in my new fishroom and will be hunting gear again soon :))

Do write the folks at Ogles (ask for Barry Reynolds) to see about options for current adapters.

I will post back too if I hear anything.

kindly, Anth-
