MH Bulbs

Recently I have run across XM Metal Halide bulbs from www.hellolights.com They are available in 10 & 20k up to 400 watt. I read a review of these at http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2004/feature2.htm which seems to like the bulbs.

Does anyone have these bulbs? If so, what is your opinion after running them?

Spoken with several people about them. They are really well priced, but I think it is because they are cheaply made. Two of the LFS's here in town have made comments about how inconsistent they are. I guess they get in a whole lot of them, and they very in their initial intensity quite a bit.

They haven't been around very long - he guesses about 4months of selling them at any reasonable amount, and people liked them quite a bit at first, but now, he is starting to get complaints.

Mine are working great. I've only purchased 2 so far, but they are a crisp bright white and seem to be just as good as the AB 10K bulbs I was burning before. I can't comment on consistency though.

im running 2 250 10k xm's and like them alot but i too have only been running them about a month.

I've been running DE 250watt XM 10k for going on 4 months now and I have had no problems. They burn into a nice crisp white 10-13k.
