Mini Brittle Stars spawning

I did a late night water change and was watching tank afterwards. Usually when I do a water change the brittle stars will stick their legs out from the rock and wave them around. This time they came all the way out, would stand on their "legs" with the central disc as high as they could get, and discharge reddish chunky stuff, then crawl back into the rock. Interesting to see!

We have this happening is our tanks too. We're told that they are spawning. We took a video of this happening it really cool.. It shows that your tank is healthy...Enjoy your tank...Thanks for sharing.

Big water changes seem to make inverts spawn. I just moved my livestock into a new tank and that caused my tuxedo urchin to spawn as well. It was pretty cool to see.

I had a mass mini brittle star spawning one afternoon a couple months ago. Freaked me out at first. I didnt know what was going on. Pretty cool, now that I know was going on.
