miracle mud

did any body use miracle mud in refugium ,,pro and con,please

I have seen it run in several systems, at first it was used without skimmers but later they started suggesting skimmers for high end systems.

I have used the miracle mud before. I had an EcoSystem setup on my first reef. Worked well, but worked even better with a skimmer.

I eventually realized that it was all of the critters and the caulerpa algae that i used with the system that made the tank so successful. The Miracle Mud part of it was an overpriced gimmick in my opinion.

I used it, promoted algae. Threw it away. It is land based mud and I wonder how much alumina is in it.

my teacher at school miss _________ used it and didnt like it so she gave it to me and i didnt like it either just as in the case above promoted algea growth
