Its the holiday season and my mom usually wants to go see a movie on x mas. Anyone have any reviews...post up here!

National lampoon xmas vacation

Ive watched this movie several times now over the last cpl weeks and its always funny! Love it with the uninvited family over for the holidays. Favorite part is prob when the dad staples himself to the house or when the uncle is empting his rv pooper im the sewer in his robe.
I think the movie is about as old as me and only actor i know is chevy chase. Hopefully this movie will live on!

John reacher
Movie by tom cruise with tom cruise. Not bad i thought. Gave a nice twist on the gf. A guy flick not a chick flick. Action packed 007 style...
This movie is about a Mp (military police) who has no id watsoever. Also blond girl too who isnt as smart as she looks.

This movie could have been more i think but the way it was shot kept the stars up
 
This is 40

Im not 40 but understood most of the humor. Funny movie! In theaters now with two actore ull know. I was told thats their actual family in the movie. I dont care and im not gonna google it. The movie however was good. A bit long and strung out like a 20yr old realtionship i guess. Kinda a short ending too...not leave u hanging but deff not the way i woulda ended it.

Get the gringo
I dont think this movie ever made it to the theaters but watched it recently on netflix. Wow not bad at all... similar to badass on netflix. However this one has theeee mel gibson. Some ppl like him and i think some hate him. I dont mind him or most of his movies hes in or makes. Gringo is a slang mexican word for white boy i believe and he deff is the lone whitey in a mexican prison. Corupt cops and money and guns and stuff inbetween. Smart guy surrounded by prisioners wat could go wrong?

The hobbit

K not bad. I never read lotr but i did read the hobbit awhile ago. Movie was similar to the book. Of course not how i pictured it.... movie is a blazing 2 hrs and 40 some odd min. So bring ur blanket or a pop in the ladys bag! Basically how the ring was found. Leaves u hanging in the end, which i dont remember about the book. This movie is about the hobbit not the adventure so remeber that.

See I read the books in school before any of the movies. I thought it was weird how they hopped back.
More money I suppose. Glad to see that it's good tho
I will definitely check it out soon.
I personally like the hobbit book the most of the series.
Thanks for the heads up. I was skeptical About even watching this one.
 
Killer joe/ abdamation or something....

Got these from the trusty redbox. I dont have cable or satelite just netflix and such.....

Anyways both of these movies are a waste imo. I like matthew mchonoway (sp) but kinda disappointed wit killer joe. The movie included scenes i found disturbing. Also the plot is basically around murder. If u like death and nasty this is for u....not me.
The other was a horror but was really short and didnt keep me for a sec. I talked to my ma the whole time. Which is only like 80mins.

Niether of these movies had a decent plot or storyline. I love horror movies for the thrill and the shivers up ur back. Both these movies lacked this.
 
Guilt trip

Wow talk talk talk....all this poor guys mom does. This movie was funny and a great mom movie for u and ur mom. Adventure and road trips kinda go hand and hand and this movie goes their. Lots of jokes and some tears of course. I like the lady star in this one and its nice to see her get a major role and not a supporting actress job. Maybe we will see more of her and her nose job..... hehe

Funny not hilarious....also lots of road trip style movies... come on hollywood we want fresh ideas!
 
Parental guidence

I didnt think id like this movie. I did. It was funny to watch a cpl old schoolers try with a cpl new style kids. Talk to ur babys dont beat em! Right???
Lol wrong i prob woulda spanked the lil devils lol. I dont have kids and dont really want em so its hard to comment about kids and movies about em. Deff see this one or at least rent it when it comes out on dvd. Laughs for the whole family....even the grandparents.

Movie was better than a 3 but not quite a 4 sooooo 3.5 it is.
 
@sedro thxs for the comment. Do u remember the hobbit story ending though or did they just leave it open. I cant remember the end of the book. I dont think they ever did make it to their destination.
 
No they didn't as far as I can remember haha it's been probably ten years. Or more. But I remember it being left open.
I may have to go to the library tomorrow check it out. I know it's worth reading again.
I may go see the movie this weekend. My brother in law works at a movie theatre so I should get in fo free :)

This one is made by the famous director. Im not a fan of how he shoots or invisions everything also these characters come out of no where.
That said, i loved this freaken movie. They kept it real and added the guts and guns quintien terintino does. The vocab in this film isnt for youngster or the violence.
Slave gone badass and free. Based back in the day too. I heard it was hard for leonardo dicaprio to play the role and say some of the things he said. I guess samual l jackson set him straight and told him to own up so to speak. It all came together in this movie.

Just for the fact i dont really like the kill bill style movies....this one left me wanting to go see it again later.
 
Hit and run
Cute movie... lol
It was good but on the verge of a chick flick. It has cars and motors and guns and such but not to much violence. More talk and story. Not to mention a bad guy with a hair do from god knows where. It.had humor and the main girl who is the main character is really cute. Guess thats why this movie was cute. Worth a watch if u like a car chase movie. An actually decent ending too imo which is rare.

Lol I kno it looks cheezy or cheesed out....but Awsome movie.
Action and and inspiration... a lil aliens too.
Basic break down of the movie is sock em bop em meets godzilla. Lol
Must see if ur sci fi guy or gal.

Never read the book but wish I had. My eyes r soar from switching back and forth.
Scary runny zombie sick ppl brad pitt.... back and forth. The rest is or was ir relevenant. Again never read the book but imagine it cant b worst than the movie. There was some intense moments but zombies r supposed to b slow!!!

Lone ranger
Just saw this one today. So still pretty fresh lol.
I'm a fan of new day westrens or as I call em cowboy movies....appalosa and true grit. Prob re makes but still.
Lone ranger was a sad at 1st but happy ending kinda movie. A must see.
Lil long. Jonny depp and I believe brandon frazier did excellent.
Plz lmk wat ur thought r on this one. I'm gonna get it when it comes out!

Elysium
Idk if thats even how u spell it. Matt damon in a simple hero with damsel in distress movie. A lil twist but not much.
Bad guy too of course is crazy as a bat. Director from district 9. He did much better here. Most reviews talk about shaky cam and action scenes r a let down. I disagree. Simple plot movie in a not so simple scene. I liked it ad much as stargate or the sphere... which r both kinda diff lol.
Go see it yo.
