so dood/ettes, i'm planning on reaquascape my tank (aahh here we go again  ) but the rock that i wanna move has a few palys and i need that rock, anyway i can get them off the rock without having to chisel the rock?
and how can i glue them back... i used to just put them in between rocks and they'd attach but i don't wanna do that and i got glue , so can i glue them or would i be wasting my time ?

thanks doods/ettes

IMO The more you mess with the tank, the slower the coral's growth

thanks dood.
i haven't done any aquascaping in quite a long time :p (i promise ) and well the thing is i'd like to use that rock to make my other rock go higher and have more of an "island" looking thingy than just blah ...but if you think i shouldn't mess around then i'll just leave those palys there :)

You can move them all you want Gabbs. Mine are always falling over or moved around and they grow like champs. I would use a butter knife to chip them off and just reglue them when you are done with the re-scaping.

u can try to peel them off, they grow in a mat kinda, but it's hard cause they don't hold together all that well and they don't glue back onto rock as well either and i have had lower survival rates that way, imo the best thing to do is use something sharp, whether it be a chisel or a razor and just scrape a bit of the rock underneath them off, how big is the colony you're thinking of moving?

Trying to peel them off can be a real pain sometimes.
I think the easiest way is to use a hammer and chisel or screw driver. That sounds brutal, but it's not. You don't have to swing the hammer hard, just the opposite. Aim the chisel a 1/2" to 3/4" back from the base of the palys pointing the chisel down into the rock and lightly tap with the hammer.
When I do this myself, I usually set the rock on the floor with a couple towels under it and lay the rock down so that it is steady. You don't have to be in a big hurry, they will survive quite a while out of the water.
You want to get the palys off along with a small piece of the rock.

thanks everyone :).
i have done it the way you describe it Martin but i was just wondering if there was any other way,but thanks dood :)
