I want to thank Steve for the tour of the Seattle Aquarium. It was an awesome experience to see how they maintain their tanks. I was suprised to learn that the city of Seattle actually owns the aquarium and because of that, the employees there have to get creative with the tanks. They aren't allowed to buy some of the modern tools like a commercial company can. Anyone who works or has worked for the government can vouch for their archeic supply (purchasing) systems.

Nonetheless, the staff really takes great care of the tanks. I frequently visit Point Defiance Zoo's Aptaisa displays :), so it was nice to see Steve and the rest of the crew take the measures to control the pest anemones. Fish all looked healthy and displays were nice and clean.

If you haven't been to the Seattle Aquarium in a while, I suggest you take a trip to check it out.

Thanks again Steve.

It was a last minute thing... I happened to be in Seattle at school and was able to connect with Steve. I wish I would have had a camera. You all should have seen the live rock they brought back from Hawaii... beautiful stuff. porous, light, and full of life.

hey Sounds like a great time, how would I go about getting a behind the scenes tour myself?

Matt
