A couple days ago I notices a small section of bleaching on my brain. now I have a section that is gone. I'm not sure what is causing this. Everything tests ok and all of the other corals are doing well.

Tank specs...

Sg 1.024
temp 78
ammonia .25
rite .25
rate 2
alk 7... just adjusted it to 9
calcium 480

It looks like when I changed over tanks it went through a mini cycle... Water change time I guess, but would this be hurting the brain?

ur in a cycle or something is dead in the tank how old is tank? amo and nitrite are verry bad id run and get bacteria in a bolltle fast. hopefully he dont die lookt like he is allready slowly. brains are my fav.

The 55 was 2 months old then I moved ALL of it to the 75 who is now 3 weeks old. I just added stability to bring up the bacteria, ill add prime to help with nitrite and do a 20%.

The short answer, yes, it could, and probably is. In any case, elevated ammonia/nitrates/nitrites are not going to help... With a few water changes and some time, it should recover. I rescued a Favia from a tank that was in poor condition. It's making a comeback.

if u are in a cycle a water change might prolong the cycle. and ive had sechem prime piss all my corals off before. so i dont use it. i only added 2ml to 30g of water. whey slimed and wouldant open for about a week.

I use Prime on a freshwater tanks but for the reef I use the Aquavitro's Alpha. I just ran to petco and added a bottle of Bio-Spira as I have had a few people say they liked it. I guess I will just start testing it every day for the next week or 2 to see whats going on.
