Hi,

Yesterday I was looking at my tort acro and noticed quite a bit of tiny red bugs crawling around. They looks like tiny red dots - so small I don't know if they even have legs. These don't look like they are any good.

Does anyone know what it is? and is it good or bad for the coral? If it is bad can anyone recommend a solution to rid these bugs?

Thanks
Jason

Sounds like acro red bugs. Take a look at this thread (http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5119&highlight=red+bugs). There has been a lot of talk about them in the past. Most say they are not beneficial. Whether they are truely harmful or not is still a matter of opinion and people's experience.

Interceptor (a dog heartworm treatment) is the cure for the bugs should you choose to erradicate them. Follow the directions for the treatment (ask if you aren't sure where to find them). Do note that any crabs and some snails will die as well. Urchins, corals and fish will be fine.
