I had a buddy of mine ask me about what nano cube was the best because they were thinking about getting one. The problem is, I only have experience with the 24gal Aquapod I just got and have only seen a few JBJ nano's so I was wondering if anyone who has had some sort of experience with any nano cubes, could post some feedback on what they thought about them. Doesn't matter what size it was, just curious if you liked it's appearance, it's practicality etc. You can even post a photo if you like which I'm sure may help out this person alot as they are a member here and I'll send them the link to it. Even more so, I think it would be a good idea to do this anyways becacuse nano's seem to be getting really popular these days, and it may help out someone else make a decision on what they should buy:)

As for me, I'm really really happy with my 24gal HQI Aquapod. When I first saw the 12gal JBJ nano, I personally didn't like how the curved glass made things look a bit magnifyed/distorted, but the Current USA's 24gal Aquapod doesn't look that way. I'm also happy with the space it provides for you in the back to add a skimmer and whatever other little goodies you want on the HQI models without any modification. I also love the fact that you can keep pretty much whatever coral you want now in an "all- in-one" nano because of the use of HQI MH's on certain models, but if you just want fish only and a few corals that don't need much lighting, you can get the Aquapod with regular pc's:)
I thought about getting one of these http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...duct_Code=FI-MT-2101Q&Category_Code=Aquariums
but opted for the Aquapod. No regrets here:)

Here's a shot of mine...

Clean looking tank, any cube is cool to have, you just have to learn how to deal with what you got I would guess

True...But I've heard that the JBJ's have a tendancy to crack! Don't need that(LOL) Thanks on the compliment:)

I read they have resolved the issue with JBJ's cracking. Finnex has some great tanks as we both know. They are coming out with a 30 gallon cube that is awesome!

Yeah, I linked that M-Tank in my first post! If the tank was coming directly from Premium Aquatics where I knew it would have gotten the extra packaging and not directly from the manufacturer, I would have given that tank a shot. Looks really great!:)

Here are some photos of the new 30 gallon M-tank with the built in refugium and skimmer. I think it has T-5's on it.

I think most of the other M-tanks have wet/dry systems in them with what they call 'water trays'. I think this may be my aquapod upgrade! <Grin>

30 gallon nano

what is the cost on the 30 gallon? What type of lighting does it have?

Not sure of the cost. I think it's going to have T5 lighting actually. Premium Aquatics is supposed to carry it but I haven't seen it on their web site yet.

LOL! I knew it wouldn't be long with the way you talked about them:p

Well, ya know! :) Good thing about the nano tanks is you can take down an old one and put up a new one in about 33 seconds.

Hey Gary! Looking for another project?? :D

Attacment 2, 3 and 4 - Shows the style of M-Tank in the last post (attachment 2 and 3) which is 20 gals, but instead of having a skimmer,it has a refugium with lighting for the fuge as well. Here's a link to that one with the 150w HQI and 18w x2 pc's (They also have it in the 36 x2 pc's as well)

Anybody see the new nano tank from Red Sea? It looked really nice at MACNA, although I don't know how it will be priced in comparison.

No...Never seen that one! I'll have to try and google it! I see Oceanic has a nano cube as well, but "supposedly" not quite as good as the Aquapod:)

I love the oceanic cubes... planning on getting one. I also like the look of a curved front because it makes it look bigger and magnifies the contents of the tank. However, i have alsways wondered about the TINY cubes (a few gallons) and how big of a problem temperature fluctuations are.

Yeah...A member here has a 3 gal "pico" but I think everything is going well with it:)

Good luck on the Oceanic cube:)

Which ones require mods or upgrades, besides lighting and/or taking out the bioballs and adding a refug....

Well, I know the Aquapod I have, doesn't require any extra nevessary mods! You can get it with whatever lighting you want to suit your needs, has enough space in the back compartment to do a lot of stuff (add skimmer etc). The M-Tanks though, come with everything in it (skimmer, fuge, HQI lighting if you want) and so you buy everything all in one and really the only thing extra you would need would be whatever extra flow you'd want:)
