I have a non reef related question, and because of the significant number of our forum members who are Navy, I thought this would be a great place to ask it. My son is in the US Navy reserve stationed at Whidbey. He has been in for about two years. Next drill weekend they are having some sort of special inspection and his immediate superior told him last month that his uniforms were to small. He has gained 20 pounds since boot camp and the shirts and pants are all very tight on him. As he decided to spend all his money on video games, I have to buy him uniforms this weekend. I had heard there was a place in Everett that sells used uniforms, like a thrift store, does anyone know the name of this place? Does anyone know of any other places we could get uniforms at lower prices? I think its ridiculous that on the tiny amount they pay for reserve duty, a sailor is expected to buy these expensive uniforms, and not just one, but 3 different kinds. Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

I think there used to be a army/navy surplus store on Hewitt on the block east of broadway, not sure if its still there though?

So where do you navy guys buy your uniforms? My son said they are like 80 bucks a set? whats insane if he needs 2 or 3 sets of each of the three different styles. Thats close to 1k.

Ichthys, I still have my old uniforms (Dress whites/blues working whites/blues) I can pull them out and see if any fit him. The patches would have to come off but that's not a hard thing to do.
