I may be posting this in the wrong section, If so please feel free to redirect me. It has been awhile.
I have an older dart return pump. It is making a vibration noise that is killing me. Does anyone know of this problem? Is there a fix? If not can someone suggest a very quiet pump for a 275g. Thank you

What do you have the pump sitting on? Is it a plywood stand bottom?
If it is, then raise it up and put some padding under it.

Also, is it hard plumbed from the sump?
Sometimes you can quiet the vibration down when a pump is plumbed with spa flex.

When's that last time it was taken down and cleaned?

It's on wood. It's hard lined in. I took it spray about two weeks ago. The sound is coming from inside the motor. I figure something has worn out and slipped from its place. I figured just replacing it would be the route to go.

I'm pretty happy with my Reeflo Dart/Snapper Hybrid pump. It's pretty quiet for a large external pump.

If I were to change it out, I might go with a Fluval SP6.
I really considered it before deciding on the Reeflo.
