Well, as some of you may have noticed in the selling forum I had to tear down my 50g. I didn't want to give up the hobby completely so I setup this 20g long. I wanted to see what you all think. Its three sided so you can look at it from the couch, kitchen, or end of the tank. For this setup I decided to try bare bottom. Thanks Brett

Pretty neat. Like the aquascaping. I always wanted to set up a tank showing three side too. I think it gives a really nice view into the underwater world. Post more as it clears up. I think it will be cool. Steve

Thanks Steve. =)
Yeah I probably should have waited, I had done a siphon job and water change about ten minutes before I took these pictures. I'll try to see if I can get anything better later tonight.

I love 20 long.... and great combo light also for the size of the tank... I bet that this project will be awesome...

Hey, are you barebottom now? or sand still...?

Its bare now. I like it because I can direct my flow down and also I can siphon out nasties but Im not real happy about the look of it. I love the look and reflection sand has.

Things have already cleared up and opened up so Ill post a photo later tonight.

The thing I cannot figure out is how you all can post gigantic photos. If I dont shrink it way down, its like 300k and 100k is the max photo size.

Brett, if you want me to host your photo, you can email me the photo.

Email the photo, and I will host it for you.

well some of us have a website/homepage that we can link to. thats why... ...

Hey if you dont want it barebottom...maybe you can try those cutting board for kitchen use... they use it all the time for sand replacement.

or you can buy white acrylic...

Hey, if youre interested of having your own domain or website...

i think the lowest price out there is free.... but they have ads...

or you can do...

$4 bucks a month for webhosting..
$6 bucks a year for domain name...

barebottom gets better once coralline starts growing on the bottom. also you will be shocked by the amount of crap your old sandbed used to absorb. my tank is so much cleaner now and corals grow alot better. plus like you said you don't have to worry about strong flow now.

i love my barebottom and i'd never go back to sand unless they found it made your corals immortal.

The light is about 6 inches above the water surface. It looks alot brighter and more colorful than what I can get my camera to capture.

Update

Here are some recent pics. I will take better ones next week when my hamilton 14,000k bulb comes in. I suspect that will help bring out my colors.
