New nano tank

I just purchased a 34 gallon Red Sea nano tank. Should I start the tank off with R/O water or could I just use water right from the tap? Since the tank has to cycle, I was curious if I really needed R/O water.

Yes. Always use Ro/Rodi if possible.

Last one...RO/DI You don't want top start off adding extra phosphates and nitrates into the system which you will have to work your butt off later to try and remove
