I have a few days off for the holidays and decided I was going to re-build the stand for my Aquapod. The last one I built was alright, but not entirely how I wanted it (rush job to put the tank on) so I built a similar style stand today.

The stand is not finished yet, but here are the first few shots. I still have to clear it and decide if I will use the door I made or do something a bit different. I can't decide if to use what I have or just do a flat surface mount door. Any comments on the door would be appreciated.

I'll post the finished product when it's all finished :)

I see you were not kidding my friend, everything looks good to me. Wait...is missing the tank on top of it :D

hey man can you build me something.....looking good

wwouu dood.... are you sure you don't wanna build me a canopy .

Anytime guys!:D

Thanks Jorge! I'm hoping the clear coat brightens it up a tad bit more to match the entertainment center, but I think the color may be off a bit again:p Aw well...Can't find the right stain to match, only if I formica I can find a good match, but since I've started staining, I don't think I'll ever go back to formica again:)

Thanks Sue! We'll see how good it looks after the clear goes on;)

BTW, I'm ordering new MH's for the aquapod as well so I can get my corals back in there again seeing they need more intense lighting like I had in my cube and maybe I'll do some DIY inside the tank, but we'll see:)

Well, I just put the clear on it and it looks great!!! Just gotta see how it dries. I'll post pics tomorrow when I can bring it inside:)

LOL! Thanks and nope!:p My Aquapod will go on it. I'm holding off on another tank right now mostly because I can't decide what I want and there's no point in me spending a ton of money on something I will want to change again later so the aquapod stays for now. This is my 4th tank for the year. Can't have a repeat of that in the New Year:p :)

Thats a pretty pimp stand Krish. :)

Now, if it were mine (and I didn't have to try to match it to other wood thing in the room) I would have left it natural with a clear coat. It looks really nice IMO.

ok what the heck pretty pimp means??? i keep hearing it but i thought pimps were the guys getting money from the hookers no??

so how can a stand be a pimp?? or is krish the pimp?
is it a verb? like you pimp, i pimp ... pimping... pimped  .

 LMAO

Have you ever seen "pimp my ride"? It's on MTV.

A verb, a noun, and an adjative.

The slang meaning is more along the lines of "super cool" or this guy -->

so when are you gonna make me one all mighty wood worker?

very nice i like that stane

is it normal stain or some speical water resistent stane?

Thanks Brett! That's how I wanted to leave it to match the wall and I love the light color better, but my wife said no(LOL)

Thanks Jon! It's regular stain. The clear coat I guess seals it:)

Nice stand krish.... Sorry to highjack your thread but..... i need the work

I live ALOT closer. It would probably cost less than having to ship it from the Bahamas as well. I am a carpenter too if you consider that a bonus.:D

Krish - I like it. The wood grain on it is very distinct and clean. It looks like some choice lumber. Nice job
Ben

LOL!! Well, I'm not a carpenter and never took any carpentry classes!:p Just been messing with power tools for the past 10 years or so:)

Thanks man!!! I don't know about choice lumber because this place sucks when it comes to good wood, but it was fur (sp) I used :)
