For a first time tank plumber, given that most of the pvc fittings out there have either slip or threaded connectors. Which types are recommended for tank plumbing applications-for my purposes, which is less likely to leak?
thanks

I always use slip when I know I won't need to take that piece off again. The glue you use to glue the pieces together doesn't leak unless you don't get a good ring of it around the fitting. Use threaded pieces coming out of the tank and to your return pumps. Also you will want to use a lot of unions to take the plumbing apart without cutting and a couple of ball valves to dial in your pumps and return

Slip for permanent joints. Get good solvent, put on a generous layer all the way around the PVC, and twist it slightly as you insert the pipe. If you do it right you'll have solid, leak free plumbing.
