Yes sir it is made to cut glass but are great for cutting corals too.

What? I was expecting a clever hand tool, not a band saw! Cool tool none the less!

Yes it is a cool gadget. It really helps in precise fragging.

I haven't seen one of these in action and was wondering how prone is it to get rust on it from the saltwater coming off of the coral? What is the platform made of?

Well the reason I bought this over the others is because most of the surface parts are plastic or aluminum. You just have to rinse them off nicely when done. Just like every thing we own. If you take proper care of it. They will last a long time.

Yes it does have a guide and you can make super precise cuts.

If you want something with a little more ummph. The Gryphon is a great saw but cost $100-$150 more.
