Working off everyones advice ( remember I have virtually no funds...we've been out of work - by no fault of our own- for almost 2 months). I am ordering some garfs grunge tomorrow....part for the main tank and am going to use some in the 15 gal as refugium. Am hatching brine shrimp as we speak.
Could someone explain in very simple terms ( not reef folks!) how to plumb the 15 gal as a refuge to the 55? I can set them as the same height and have 3 power heads ( nice ones I think ) coming off ebay. Saw I would need one for transfer one way or the other to the refuge. Plan to use 2 in the main tank. For ya'll that have been around for my threads....don't want to return "Mandy" the dragonette. My mistake and I want to rectify it ( figure ing someone else might make my same mistake and she would be lost anyway responsibility is on me...)the plumbing needs to seriously be in lay mans terms ( illustrations. drawings). Thank you everyone so far for your input. I am having so much fun but am seriously regretting my mistakes.

Save your money on the grunge, there are no magic shortcuts.
The fuge will help a lot! You will need to read up on overflows and decide which way you wan't to go for plumbing as same height systems are nearly impossible to maintain. If you get some plants, put them in the display for now until fuge is set up.

Power heads are the MUST.

Sorry, but your Mandy will not make it in any tank without a lot of live rock or getting lucky with it learning to eat other foods.

Got the copepods coming....the brine shrimp hatchery was more of an experiment ( successful though) for the other inhabitants ! The discouragement is hard But they are my mistakes and I am determined. No fish losses yet all look healthy! The thing with the snails...they just detached and fell to the bottom? Any ideas on that? Got my own water testing kit....did show light nitrates. Thanks everyone who has given input!!!
