I am thinking about setting up a 38 gal FOWLR tank with sump, possibly turning it into a reef tank in the furure. I am looking for suggestions on the best way to set this up (best skimmer, lighting, etc.) so I don't have to upgrade it for this tank in the future. I am starting this tank to tide me over until i can get my 120

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Eric. for a FOWLR you dont really need any tyoe of lighting beyond the NO lights that come with the tank. so I would suggest no buying any until time comes when you have to. Skimmers are very important so I would get a good one and spend the money up front, a good skimmer can save you alot of pain in the future. Your LR will be your filtration system so I would start with a low bioload and work your way up from thier, Are you going to have a sump on this system???

Yes I would like to use a sumpwith this tank. As far as skimmers go, I was thinking about using the Aqua C Urchin. Do you have any other suggestions?
