you need to feed it silver sides with a feeding prong, if you cant entice him to eat then the last resort is to take him out and hold him while you put a small piece of food in his mouth to get the tase of the food.
He should just eat right away...

I hatched one a few years ago. I went to Safeway, bought some scallops, and essentially gave him half a scallop in the morning, and another half in the evening. I would chop up the scallop portions into tiny pieces, probably the size of the pencil eraser. Until the shark was a bit bigger, I had to locate the food near him. After a couple of weeks, I included shrimp in his meal. About a month or so later, I offered him a little of everything, including octupus, squid, scallop, salmon, and crab meat. Long story short, by his ninth month of age, he was about 18 inches long. He was eating a big handful of food at ever sitting. I had to call the seattle aquarium and donate him. I did not think he would grow that fast.

Also, make sure you have a good protein skimmer....if you don't, water will deteriorate quickly.

:) Good luck.

BTW, mine ate the first day. I had to try a variety of foods til I found something he liked. Initially this was scallops. Eventually his taste pallette accepted the other foods.

yes, frozen food from safeway. However, prior to feeding, I thawed everything in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes.
