i had to come to Florida suddenly today..will my sps be ok if the lights aren't turned on???? i may be able to get them on everyday, but i don't really have anyone who can turn them off..i can't ask someone to come over twice a day:doubt: will they be ok???

If they are a really good friend ask them to go to a hardware store and get you a 24 hr utility timer (3 pronged). It is well worth the $15 to $20 dollar investment.

I agree with the timer...More importantly though, I hope everything is ok why you had to head to Florida all of a sudden.

i agree on the timer, just get a cheap one while you're away and make sure you tell someone how to set it up.

i agree with Krish dood... i hope everything is ok

I ditto the Dr.

Digital with backup battery. Not sure I understand your immediate situation but the timers are your answer unless you have a robot friend.

im gonna turn it off i think.

i dont want the DST to change agein

if the corals were not sps then I wouldn't worry, but these are sps and really need the lighting. I'm with everyone above, get a timer and put them on the lights. I love them on my tank and when things unexpected like this happen you are ok least for the lighting.

hey guys.i was already in Florida when i was asking about the lights..i finally got someone i trust to turn them on and off for me..i may be gone for a few weeks..Kimmy's dad died suddenly yesterday, so i had to pack a few clothes and leave immediately..i didn't have time to mess with stuff..i have one timer hooked up to my coral qt tank, but the halides aren't automated yet..i may be moving back here(Florida) in the next month or so, so i am going to slow down on my tanks a bit..i may have to move them

I'm so sorry to hear that Ron... Glad you could find someone to help you out with the lighting. I know that will help you and the corals out lots.

Take care..
