Hi

I like to use corbon from time to time on my tank but the way my sump is set up, there is no place to put a carbon in the sump bacause my sump does not have a area to support the carbon bag.

I was thinking about dropping the carbon bag in the overflow of the tank, has anyone tried this? or is there not enough directional flow to make it effective?

Thanks for your input
J

What kind of skimmer do you have and how is it situated? You can get a small berry basket or similar and rig it under the outport of the skimmer. Then just place some carbon in a filter bag and your good to go... As long as the flow is not extreme!

I would be wary about placing anything in the overflow that could reduce flow potential or possible cause a flood.

Cheers
Steve
