Octopus RPS-1000

Does anyone have an Octopus RPS-1000? I am looking to find out what is the best water pump to use with these skimmers I have tried a couple and they are either undersized or way oversized. Looking for a recommendation from someone who is currently using this recirculating skimmer.

I have the rps-2000 and use a mj 900.

Did you replace or cut the o ring on the venturi?
